Plyler, Gene B., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend was called home to God’s open arms on July 6, 2011. Age 77 years. The son of the late General and Ella May Plyler was born April 15, 1934 in Lancaster County, South Carolina. He served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Community Baptist Church where he was a lifetime Deacon. He owned and operated Wagoner’s Car Clinic and Hank’s Auto Store until he sold his business and then he worked for Garber Buick. He enjoyed gardening and most of all, loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marleen C. (Remer) Plyler, two daughters and two sons, Rebecca (Rance) Peevy, Texas; Marcella Plyler, Saginaw; Nathaniel Mark Plyler, Marlette, MI; Timothy Matthew Plyler, Conn; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Aaron; Katie, Nathaniel , Mark, Elizabeth; three brothers, two sisters, Edward, Grady, Linda and Don Plyler, Barbara Hamby; several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and one sister, Allan, Jack, Frank and Mattie have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 8331 Gratiot Road, Saginaw. Dr. Douglas R. Jackson will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then on Friday at the church from noon until the time of the funeral service.
