Ovalle, Mary E., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late Luther and Maria (Moreno) Elizalde, Mary was born August 6, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed listening to Mexican music. Most of all, Mary loved being with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Jason) Taylor, Saginaw; Kathy Jo Ovalle-Gutierrez, Loma Linda, California; five grandchildren, Lindsay Taylor (Jason) Vella, Jessica Marie Taylor, Stephanie J. Taylor, Juan (Kelsey) Gutierrez, Estefan Gutierrez; three brothers and one sister, Joe, Emil, Peter and Judy Elizalde. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Ovalle Jr., and by her brothers and sisters, Frances Delgado, Angela Serrato, Cleo Claty, John, James and LeRoy Elizalde. Mary’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Phoenix Family Physicians, especially Dr. Veronica Lorenzo, and to the nursing staff at Covenant HealthCare CCU for the loving care they gave to her. Honoring Mrs. Ovalle’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
