Otto, Warren Gerber, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away at Covenant Harrison on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Age 68 years. Warren Gerber Otto was born December 23, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Howard and Marie (Wagner) Otto. He married Susan Knief on July 28, 1973 and she survives him. He graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School in 1960 and then attended Ferris State University, Tampa University, and Northwood University. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law in 1970. After admission to the Michigan State Bar Association and the Saginaw Bar Association, Warren joined the family law firm, Otto & Otto, where he practiced for many years until he retired in 2010. “Gerbie” was an accomplished golfer, a veteran softball player of 36 years, and an honorary member of the Turtles. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving besides his spouse are two daughters and their spouses, Kimberly and Anthony Richter, and Marlene and Todd Hall; two grandchildren, Connor and Braelyn as well as another grandchild soon to be born; two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Alec; two sisters, Lorraine (Doran) Kasper and Janelle Nuzum; a niece, Corine and a nephew, Eric; and an uncle, Bruce Otto and an aunt, Grace Otto. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Friends may call on the family at the Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers Mr. Otto’s family would like donations made to a college education fund being set up for his grandchildren.
