Orr, Donald Clayton, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle passed away early Friday, August 12, 2011, at St. Francis Home at the age of 87 years. He was born February 12, 1924, in Saginaw, the son of the late William N. and Maud (Robinson) Orr. He served with the US Army during World War II. He was a steel-worker, working at Lufkin Rule and later retiring from SKS Heat Treating. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hemlock. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and golfing. He married Marvel Louise Bell on April 30, 1945; she predeceased him July 22, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Nancy and Jake Mattes, Saginaw; Robert and Lori Orr, St. Charles; Linda and Merle Lemaire, Saginaw; four grandsons, Joel and Jessica Orr, Michael and Stacey York, Jeffery and Wendy Orr, and Eric Lemaire; six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Logan, Wyatt, Olivia, Zachary and Karleigh; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marian Orr, Florence Bell, Thomas and Gerry Aspin, Mary Locke, Betty and Jerry Seaver, Margaret and Jerry Hauman, Gladys Fischer, Nancy Bell, Gilbert and Edna Bell, Ben and BethAnn Bell, Patty Wesener, Helen and Clair Luce, Martin and Barb Bell; many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by four brothers, two sisters and spouses, Ivan, Irvin, Alfred and Anne, and Edward “Bert” Orr, Noma and Gregory Reed and Dorothy Francis O’Rourke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alex Bell, Chester and Rose Bell, Thomas Bell, Francis Bell, Catherine Aspin, Ronald Locke, Edward Fischer, Robert Kushion and William Wesener. Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 151 Saint Marys Drive, Hemlock, Michigan, where his family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of Mass. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Private committal services took place at St. Mary Cemetery, Hemlock.
