Nowaczyk, Bernard J., Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Covenant- Harrison. Age 78 years. Bernard was born September 4, 1932 in Saginaw, the son of the late John J. and Pauline (Sikorski) Nowaczyk. He married Barbara Rose Sayan; she passed away July 1, 2007. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post # 229, Bloomfield Twp. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Nowaczyk; Bernard Nowaczyk Jr; Three brothers and one sister and their spouses, James and Lucille Nowaczyk; Robert Nowaczyk; Edward and Judith Nowaczyk; Mary and Bernard Siler; his special nieces, Kathy, Pamela, Patricia; many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Theresa, Stanley, Joseph and John. The funeral liturgy will take place on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road, Bridgeport. Rev. John Mancini, O.S.F.S. will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post # 439. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
