Novak, Wilma Elsie, Merrill, Michigan

Passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at her home, age 94 years. Wilma Rohn was born in Merrill, Michigan April 13, 1917 the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Wenzel) Rohn. She married John M. Novak June 18, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock, MI. He predeceased her December 21, 2002. Wilma and John worked the family dairy farm together for many years. She worked along side John in the fields and with the animals. She was very active as a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving as President of the Ladies Society and singing in the choir. The best times in her life was when she got to spend time with her family, whether it was going camping , working in the garden or just sitting around and visiting. Wilma is survived by her twin daughters, Caroline Foster, Houghton Lake, Michigan and Carolyn (Irving) Brown, Merrill, Michigan; her daughter-in-law, Lillian Novak, Merrill, MI; her grandchildren, Stanley (Kim) Brown, Annette (Tom) Guettler, Daniel(Shirley) Brown, Scott (Connie) Novak, Deneese (Joe) Betz; great-grandchildren, Michael Brown, Laura Brown, Benjamin Guettler, David Guettler, Joshua Brown, Brandon Brown, Joel Novak, Janae Worley, Megan Cooper, Heather Betz; two great-great-grandsons; her special friends, Chuck and Sherry Braband and their family. She also leaves a sister, Madeline (Olaf) Rose, Lapeer, MI; in laws, Wilmer (Mildred) Oldenburg and Ernest Novak; several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her son, Jack Novak; son-in-law, Del Foster and three siblings. The funeral service will take place on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10020 E. Monroe Road, Wheeler, MI. Rev. Larry Warsinski will officiate with burial in Lakefield Township Cemetery. Friends may call at W. L. Case & Company, Merrill on Sunday from 2:00 – 9:00 and at church on Monday from10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
