Mahl, Amelia "Millie", Bay City, MI, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the age of 96 years. Amelia Eliza Kelly was born February 18, 1915, in Saginaw, to the late Robert and Lydia (Brecht) Kelly, living in Saginaw for most of her life. She married Henry Patrick Mahl on July 20, 1932, in Saginaw; he predeceased her January 4, 1997. She worked at the Gun Plant during World War II and also at the Blind Institute, where she sorted straw for brooms. She was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, word search puzzles and church potlucks. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Lighthouse Free Methodist Church for 54 years until 2003, and then became a member of Faith Church of the Nazarene in Bay City for the past 9 years. Surviving are five children and their spouses, Gerald Henry Mahl (Jo), Hope, MI; Ralph Edwin Mahl (Dorothy), Saginaw; Beverly Lou Brush, Saginaw; Karen Ruth Houghtaling (Charlie), Bay City; David Lee Mahl, Midland; seven grandchildren, Gerald Henry Mahl Jr., Debra Muirhead (Bill), Ralph E. Mahl Jr. (Tammy), Mark Allen Brush (Mary), Vickie Lynn Lach (Walt Sr.), Shane Allen Losee, Noel Aaron Losee (Christy); twelve great-grandchildren, Stephanie Muirhead, Kara Leal (Manuel), Brandi and Jessica Mahl, Johnny Mahl, Walter Lach Jr., Kassie Lach, Matthew and Megan Brush, Aaron, Lauren and Robyn Losee; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Ray Kelly (Ruth), Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Eva Kelly, Bridgeport; several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by one daughter-in-law, Patricia Mahl; two sons-in-law, Rev. Richard Losee and Dale Brush; one grandson, Michael Henry Mahl; one great-grandson, Ralph Mahl III; an infant great-great-granddaughter; three brothers, Paul, Don and Bob Kelly; and one sister, Gertrude Bannick. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where her family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, and then on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
