Lockwood, James Alan (Jim), Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Age 65 years. The son of the late James Albert and Betty (Vetengle) Lockwood, Jim was born July 13, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of American Legion Post #439 where he served on the Honor Guard and also a member of V.F.W. Post #1859. He married Pam Zielinski on May 5, 1978. She survives him. He was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years until his retirement in 2001. Jim enjoyed being outdoors and was a member of Saginaw Field & Stream Club. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, especially at Isle Royale. He was also a die-hard Red Wings and Tigers fan. Surviving besides his wife Pam are two daughters and one son, Kimberly Lockwood, St. Cloud, Florida; Doug Lockwood, currently working in Afghanistan; Amy Lockwood, Saginaw; a granddaughter, Vanessa Lockwood; a brother, Thomas (Dana) Lockwood, Hemlock; two sisters, Nancy (Dean) Puller, Orlando, Florida; Julie (Chip) Francke, Spring Lake, Michigan; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeland, Michigan where military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N.
