Lewis, Alfred, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away June 2, 2011 at Covenant Harrison at age 87 years. Alfred was born January 27, 1924 in Caldwell Township, NJ. He was married to MaryRose Rafter on January 14, 1951 in Bloomfield, NJ. She predeceased him December 19, 1998. He had been employed by Dow Corning Corp. and retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church. Alfred served during WWII in the 5th Air Force in the South Pacific, as a 1st Lt., and flew 31 missions as a B-24 bombardier. He is survived by one daughter and three sons; Donna and James Ferguson, Alfred and Janet Lewis, Rev. George Lewis, and Stephen and Sue Lewis, as well as, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter in law Patricia Lewis. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Jack Johnson will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 500 N. Michigan Ave., on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4-8pm and at the church on Saturday from 10am until service. www.mcintyrefuneralchapel.com
