Leppien, Albert R., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Age 82 years. The son of the late Frederick and Albertine (Block) Leppien, Albert was born on August 25, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a 1946 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Albert was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Joan Rabie on July 30, 1960. She survives him. He was employed by U.S. Graphite for 33 years until his retirement in 1990. Albert was a member of American Legion Post #439, V.F.W. Post #1859, Washington Club and U.A.W. Surviving besides his loving wife Joan of 50 years are four sons and one daughter, Dennis (Charlene), Rich (Christine), Pam, Dan and Tom; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Karl Leppien; a sister, Marguerite (Bill) Schuetter; many nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by four brothers and a sister. Military Services, under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859, will take place on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Honoring Mr. Leppien’s wishes cremation will follow.
