Lang, Robert W., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the James E. Cartwright Care Center. Age 71 years. Robert was born May 24, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of the late Wallace and Rose (Ryers) Lang. Robert grew up in Kochville Township, Michigan. He attended Arthur Hill High School, and graduated with the Class of 1958. He later graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married Joyce on August 19, 1972. She survives him. Robert retired from Grey Iron Foundry/GM Powertrain Division in 2000 with thirty-seven years of seniority. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf and working in his yard. He was an avid fan of Michigan State Football and Detroit Tiger Baseball games. Surviving besides his wife, Joyce, are his children and their spouses, Robert W. Lang II, Niles, MI; Lisa (Kevin) Ouillette, Pinconning, MI; Jodie (Steven) Gibson, Birch Run, MI; Michael Pardee, Saginaw, MI; his grandchildren, Torie (Joseph) Rose; Melissa Badour; Daniel (Melissa) Gibson; Sarah Pardee; Julie and Jill Gibson; five great grandchildren; his brother, Nelson Gerhauser; many other loving relatives. Robert also leaves special friends, Pat and Sue Ogden. His parents, Wallace and Rose Lang, his brothers, Steven and Wallace Lang and his sisters, Barb Behnke and Mary Jo Lang have preceded him in death. Honoring Mr. Lang’s wishes, cremation and a private memorial service has taken place.
