LaLonde, Hilda C., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at St. Francis Home. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late William and Amanda (Laurisch) Brechtelsbauer, Hilda was born on September 6, 1915 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Forrest J. LaLonde on November 11, 1937. He predeceased her September 26, 2002. Hilda was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was employed at Eaton Manufacturing and later served as a medical assistant at St. Luke’s Hospital and for the medical office of Dr. Oscar Nelson. Hilda was a member of the Saginaw County Medical Assistants Association, Shields Study Club and Bay City Senior Citizens Dance Group. She also served on the Shields School Board and P.T.A. and worked at Thomas Township voting stations during elections. Hilda enjoyed going to the ca$ino, traveling and playing cards. Most of all, Hilda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Jeanne Krugielki, Saginaw; Forrest (Bill) LaLonde and his wife Cathie, Tempe, Arizona; five grandchildren, Brenda (Larry) Warren, Timothy Krugielki, Dawn Hardt, Douglas (Debi) LaLonde and Terry (Pam) LaLonde; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Gordon and Ernest Brechtelsbauer. Hilda’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to St. Francis Home for providing such wonderful and loving care to Hilda. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Road. Pastor Wade Johnston will officiate. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
