Kruger, Alice M., Hemlock, Michigan

Went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 8, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Age 77 years. Alice Mae Wilt was born November 28, 1933 to George and Freda Wilt of Hemlock. She lived in the Hemlock area all of her life. She was previously employed by the Hess Michigolden Duck Farm as a young woman and later as a bookkeeper for the Hemlock Farmers Co-op for many years. She married Maurice Kruger in July, 1974. He predeceased her in August 2007. She was fond of travel in her earlier years, reading, and visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Harold (Deborah) Blehm, Freeland, a sister, Helen (Wayne) Darling, Saginaw, two grandchildren, Mark Blehm, Anchorage, Alaska, Beckie Blehm and her fiancé Ron Zimmerman, Freeland, and also a brother-in-law, Robert Wegner of Saginaw. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and also her close apartment friends Jeanne, Michele, Nancy and Shelley who provided daily comfort during her last days at home. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister Elaine Wegner, and an infant son, Mark Randall Blehm. The family would like to graciously thank the Covenant Mackinaw Oncology staff for their attention and concern during the past year and Brian’s House in Bay City for their comforting care in her final days. Honoring Mrs. Kruger's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, corner of Miller Road and North River Road. Pastor Edward Meyer will officiate. The family will greet visitors at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Brian’s House, 3140 W. Campus Drive, Bay City, MI 48706. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road.
