Kotcher Sr., Robert J., Saginaw, Michigan

Went home to be with the Lord, with his family at his side, on April 16, 2011, he was 80 years old. He was born in Saginaw on January 28, 1931 to the late Jay and Florence (Kroll) Kotcher. He lived in Saginaw until after his retirement when he and his wife moved to their retirement home on Jose Lake in South Branch, MI. Bob married his best friend and love of his life, Eunice E. Dahl on June 14, 1952. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Eunice and their children: daughter Karen and Bruce Langdon, Brighton, MI; son Robert Jr. “Rob” Kotcher and Judy Ruppel, Saginaw; and daughter Kellie and Tom Laubhan, Ft Wayne, IN. Seven grandchildren: Tom and Courtney Laubhan, Mindy and Nick Eckert, Todd Laubhan all of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kristopher Kotcher, and Brandy Kotcher of Texas, Micki Fox of White Lake, MI, and Christy Bartelt of Hastings, MI. Five great grand children: Cameron, Tyler, and Katie Laubhan, Will and Aubrey Eckert, all of Ft. Wayne, IN. He also leaves his sister, Colleen and Dick Tamm, Saginaw, and brothers; Jay and Phyllis Kotcher, Bay City, MI, Bill and Vi Kotcher, Davidson, MI., a good friend and former son-in-law Bob Bartelt, Waterford, MI, also many nieces and nephews and the extended Dahl family. Bob graduated from Saginaw High in 1949 and served in the US Military during the Korean War. He truly loved his chosen career as a wholesale electrical salesman and during his career he worked for Morley Brothers, Standard Electric, and WESCO where he made many long time friends. When Bob retired he and his wife transformed their cottage on Jose Lake into their retirement home where he enjoyed many years watching and feeding the wildlife, fishing, hunting, golf and his family and many friends. Bob loved photography and was an avid fan of music and enjoyed singing from childhood. He enjoyed many types of music from classical to old time ditties, jazz and 40’s style to barbershop harmony (yes he was a barbershopper). The family would like to thank the entire staff of Hoyt Nursing Home for the love, care, and support they gave us as well as the Saginaw VA for the many years of care they provided.
