Beverly was born in Leipsic, Ohio on May 3, 1934 as the first of two daughters to Kathryn and Clyde Bunn. She was inspired in choosing an education degree by her high school physical education teacher at Napoleon High School in Ohio. She went on to graduate from Bowling Green University in 1956 and marry Roger Koppenhofer, of Deshler, Ohio, in June of that year. They were married for fifty five beautiful years that included raising three children and in 1974, were proud to accept a call to grow their family by adding their daughter, Rose. She and Roger’s loving relationship has been a model for many to emulate in their own lives. Beverly will be remembered for her mentorship of youth, both in teaching and in her spiritual life. Beverly and Roger have been faithful servants of Ascension Lutheran Church since 1964, shortly after it’s inception in 1961. Beverly has served her church as its Youth Group Leader, Altar Guild Chairperson, member of the choir and initiator of the Nursery for young families. Beverly’s life charter was as an educator with the Swan Valley School District. Her impact has been felt by many of her students who have gone on to become educators themselves. Beverly’s second source of great fulfillment was in coaching. She proudly led the Viking Volleyball program for 16 successful seasons, winning District titles in 1992 through 1994, reaching State Semi-final round in 1995. Beverly was honored as the coach of the Saginaw News Dream Team in 1988 and 1994. Beverly enjoyed golf, bridge club, and sharing music and dinners with so many friends for 25 years at Germania Country Club. She lived for enjoying summer weather beside her wooded pool sanctuary, laughing with family and wandering thru antique shops.
