Klemm, Christian, Saginaw Township, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 88 years. The son of the late Christian and Amelia (Felsing) Christian was born on April 22, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Christian married Erma Gross on August 21, 1948. She survives him. He was an electrician for Dow Chemical for 39 years until his retirement in 1981. He was employed for Michigan Sugar Company from 1974 to 1991. Christian was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Post # 9809. He enjoyed camping, bowling, singing, deer hunting and especially spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife Erma are a son and two daughters, Bruce and Marilyn Klemm, Greenville; Colleen Schmidt, Bay City; Barb and Tom Salak, Freeland; grandchildren, Melissa (Corey) Jerome, Pickford; Christine (Matt) Olsen, Greenville; Katilyn Klemm, Greenville; Steve Salak and Brandon Salak, Freeland; one great-grandson, Ryker Olsen; a twin sister Millie Workman, a brother, George Klemm; many nieces and nephews. Christian was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters, Jacob Klemm, Mary Reese, Mollie Price and two infant sisters. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Rev. Kathleen Basner will officiate. Entombment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by Michigan National Guard. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. V.F.W. Post #9809 will have a Military Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
