Kehoe, Helen, Punta Gorda, FL, Formerly of Hemlock, Michigan

Helen Kehoe was born August 28, 1923 in Hemlock, MI. She was the only child of Floyd and Lorena (Wehner) Conger. She attended Hemlock Public schools graduating in the class of 1941. She went on to graduate from Central Michigan University in 1945 and worked on her Masters degree at the University of Michigan. She began her teaching career in Saginaw and later taught in the Hemlock school system. She retired in 1981 having taught 34 years. Helen married Ray Kehoe in 1945. They were the parents of two sons, Brian and Dennis. She is survived by her son Dennis of Crystal, her grandson Chad and his wife Crystal and a great grandson Chase of Cape Coral, Fl. Also surviving is daughter in law Cathy Kehoe Daily of Owosso, two brothers in law, Earl of Hemlock, Duane and his wife Lucille of Merrill and many nieces and nephews. They are Charles and Done, Jackie and Gary Kehoe and Robert and Alvera, Jim and Margaret Kehoe, Janet and Tom Leddy, Gladys and Dale Murphy, Mary and Ron Bell Danny and Al Braley, Barbara and Floyd Wetherall, Karen and Larry Reck, Earlene and Bob Oomen and Collene and Philip Alavarez. There are many grand nieces and nephews, among them are Jim Kehoes children, Neil and Melissa, Dan and Lisa and Jamie with whom she spent many happy holidays. Her son Brian died in 1989 and her husband of 47 years in 1992. Since 1992 she has lived on Loon Lake, Crystal, Michigan in the summer months and at Punta Gorda, FL. on Peace River in the winter time. Helen has always been an active church member. She was a lifetime member of St Peter Lutheran church, Hemlock and an associate member of both Faith Lutheran church, Punta Gorda and Hope Lutheran, Stanton. She had been a member of the choir, ladies aid, altar guild, quilting group, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Currently she was in charge of the Resource Center in Punta Gorda. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N Raucholz Road, Hemlock, Michigan. Rev. Martin J. Hagenow will officiate with burial in Richland Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday and then at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral service.
