Hoffman, James E., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved son and brother passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Age 58 years. The son of Delphine (Jamrog) Hoffman and the late Edward Hoffman Jr., Jim was born January 25, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul High School in 1971. Jim owned and operated J&M Party Store on Genesee Street in Saginaw for 14 years. He was then employed at Crooked Creek for 10 years until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith. Jim loved bowling and had bowled many 300 games. He also enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and going to the ca$ino. Surviving besides his mother Delphine are one sister, one brother and their spouses, Mary Kay and Victor Balzer, Saginaw; John and Dianne Hoffman, Kaleva, Michigan; one niece, Wenona Balzer, Saginaw; one nephew, Nathan Hoffman, Grand Haven; many dear friends including Charlie, Shirley, Rick and L.J. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M., Cap., will officiate. Honoring Jim’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
