Hasse, Josephine Marie, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Lee Roy and Mary Amanda (Harrison) Rumsey was born November 19, 1922 in Anacortes, Washington moving to Michigan in the 1950’s. She married Joseph Petrick who died in 1957. She later married George Hasse in 1961, He passed away in 1991. Mr. and Mrs. Hasse lived in Fremont Twp, near Hemlock and she enjoyed her huge garden. She did a lot of canning of vegetables and crocheting of Afghans, giving most away. She loved to travel, visiting several states before health issues prevented her from traveling. She was known for her kind heart and would want to thank all of her friends and caregivers for their wonderful care and concern, especially those at the Carriage House where she resided. She was predeceased by her two sons, James and Joseph. Surviving are two grandchildren, Joseph Petrick, Flint, MI; Shelia Napora and her husband Robert, Harrison, MI; five great grandchildren, Heather and Tommy Hart, Paris Napora, Amber and Corey Petrick; a brother-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Hasse; several nieces and nephews. A sister Margaret Maxine Parker has also predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. George Dorado will officiate with burial in Swan Creek Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
