Harris, Valerie Lesher, Freeland, Michigan

Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare- Harrison Campus. Age 83 years. Daughter of the late Valerian and Mary (Grigonis) Schultz, Valerie was born May 27, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to William E. Lesher on September 16, 1950. He predeceased her May 2, 1978. She then was married to Brown Harris on February 8, 1980. He survives her. Valerie was employed at Farnums Pharmacy, AAA Auto Club, McDonalds Nursery and Show and Tell. She was a very proud volunteer at Covenant Harrison Gift Shop. Valerie was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, its Altar Society and a Catechism Teacher. She was also an active volunteer for Freeland Frontier Days and active in Girl Scouts. Surviving besides her husband Brown are two sons and two daughters, Tim and Marty Lesher, Knoxville, Tennessee; Bruce and Carmen Lesher, Los Angeles, California; Terry (Lesher) and Steve Frost, Freeland; Patricia J. Lesher, Freeland; seven grandchildren, Marco Lesher, Amanda Mae (Lesher) and Justin Crawford, Melissa Lesher, Nicole Frost, Kelly Frost, Andrew Frost and Christopher W. Lesher; step- children, Wanda, Ron, Dean, Debbie and Yvonne Harris, several step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Deanna Harris; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Valerie was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Bordeaux and her brother, Donald Schultz. A special thanks to Dr. John Bartnik and staff, Dr. Andrew LaFleur and staff, and the medical staff of 7th Floor at Covenant HealthCare- Harrison Campus. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 335 Johnson St., Freeland. Rev. Fr. Ricky Varner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
