Hall, Gerhart J., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved uncle passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Saginaw Geriatrics Home. Age 92 years. The son of the late Martin and Emile (Bower) Hall, Gerhart was born September 3, 1918 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He married Dorothy May Bloom on January 24, 1943. She predeceased him July 20, 2010. Gerhart served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. He was employed at Grey Iron Foundry as a millwright for 32 years until his retirement in 1980. Gerhart was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as an usher at the church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling and raising flowers, especially roses. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Gerhart was preceded in death by three sisters. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor David Birnbaum will officiate with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
