Gerwin, Deborah K., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away after a two year “fight” with breast cancer on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at the age of 61. She went peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the home of her sister. Debbie was born January 18, 1950, the daughter of Jack T. Williams and the late Phyllis M. (Peters) Williams in Saginaw. She was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church and was active with the Breast Cancer Support Group. Surviving are her two daughters, Kelly Nitschmann and her husband Rudi; Lindsey Gerwin; two grandchildren, Brady and Natalie Nitschmann; her father Jack Williams and his friend, Ruth Koerber; her children’s father, Allen Gerwin; two sisters, one brother and their spouses, Vickie and Dan Hayes; Cheri and Rod Stokes; Jack and Nikki Williams; several nieces and nephews. Her son, Scott Gerwin has predeceased her. In accordance with Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Debbie will be laid to rest beside her son and near her mom at Oakwood Cemetery in Saginaw. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the memorial service.
