Garcia, Francisco, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was set Free to join his Heavenly Father at the midnight hour on Sunday morning, July 03, 2011, at the age of 87 years. Francisco was born April 4, 1924, in Mexico, the son of the late Silveria and Locadio Silva. He married Maria de la Luz on January 1, 1946 in McAllen, Texas. Together they had five daughters. They moved to Michigan in 1946. He retired from Malleable Iron Foundry. He and his wife owned and operated La Azteca Grocery Store until 1978. He was a hardworking, generous man. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, grandchildren and family. His wife Luz predeceased him February 18, 2005. Surviving are four daughters, Veronica and Luis Segura, Birch Run; Maria Marta Osuna, Saginaw; Janie and Rick Padilla, Saginaw; Silvia Garcia, Saginaw; eleven grandchildren, Luis Segura Jr., Frank (Melissa) Segura, Yolanda (Chad) Bellinger, Reyes (Jhoana) Osuna Jr., Joy (Michael) Benfante, Nicholas Gonzalez, Gabriel Gonzalez, Julian Padilla, Emilio Padilla, Angelo Ortega, and Donovan Ortega; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Alysandra, Mya, Jacob, Michael Reyes, Mercedes and Nicholas; one brother and four sisters, Sixto Silva, Felipa Garza, Vicenta Salinas, Elisa Silva and Guadalupe Cantu; many nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by their daughter, Yolanda Garcia in 1963, his son-in-law, Rev. Reyes Osuna, and a brother, Manuel Silva. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Spiritual Therapy Ministry, 825 Bridgeview South, Zilwaukee, where his family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Rev. George Dorado will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reyes Osuna Children’s Memorial Fund.
