Fowler Jr., Russell Frank, Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away suddenly Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the age of 77 years. He was born November 11, 1933, in Saginaw, the son of the late Elizabeth (Indlekofer) and Russell Frank Fowler Sr. He graduated from Arthur Hill Tech. He served with the US Navy Reserves during the Korean War. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 3 after over 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and was a member of the Alzheimer’s Support Group. He enjoyed farming and gardening. He married Carol Joyce Tuck on September 13, 1952; she predeceased him May 1, 2011. Surviving are six children and their spouses, Linda Silva, Omer, MI; Dan Fowler, Bay City, MI; Michele and Steve Brechtelsbauer, Troy, MI; Rosemarie “Rejo” and Craig Walter, Bad Axe, MI; Neta and Larry Moll Jr., Saginaw, MI; Mike and Michelle Fowler, Midland, MI; eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Scot and Rachel; Jamie, Casie, Erin, Michaella and John; Ryan, Carly, Stephanie and Mike; Larry III, Sarah and Jeff; Becca; five great grandchildren, Anthony, Randon, Tyler, Riley and Ethan; his brothers and sisters, Robert Fowler; Betty and Jim Mott; Arthur Fowler; Edward Fowler; Carol and Bill Trudell; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jay Fowler, a granddaughter, Felicia Fowler, a son-in-law, Guillermo “Sonny” Silva, two brothers and one sister, George, Raymond and Kathryn Fowler, and three sisters-in-law, Marilyn, Shirley and Carole Fowler. The funeral liturgy will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. John Mancini O.S.F.S. will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy, from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, Central Michigan Region, St. Christopher Catholic Church or a charity of their choice.
