Forbes, Mary Jane, Carrollton, Michigan


Went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Brian’s House in Bay City, following a lengthy illness. Age 82 years. Mary Jane was born on January 4, 1929, in Saginaw, to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Lane) Forbes. Mary Jane leaves behind, Lena Hess, her beloved partner of 45 years; four daughters, Marilyn Perry, MaryLizz (Steven) Northrup, Nadine (Birney) Trissler, Dawn Hess, all of Saginaw; eight grandchildren, David Whitman, Tina Hedrich, Vanessa Northrup, Angela Jones, Lee Northrup, Deanna Hess, Tiffany Trissler and Mandi Bixby; 13 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew, Judy Cramer and William Forbes. Mary Jane was employed by the Carrollton Public School District for 18 1/2 years. Mary Jane enjoyed listening to polka and her favorite country western music. She was an avid Coca~Cola collector and enjoyed scrapbooking. Her family meant everything to her and filled her life with love and joy. Her memory will be cherished and carried forever in our hearts. Funeral service will take place on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Fr. Joseph A. Schabel will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
