Findley, Mary, Monument, CO Formerly of Saginaw, MI

Passed away December 15, 2010 after courageously battling cancer for over a year. Mary was born on September 26, 1952 to Arthur and Patricia Jacqmain of Saginaw. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1970 and then attended Saginaw General Nursing School, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Mary joined the U.S. Air Force in 1976, serving as a nurse in Ohio, Alaska and California. While stationed in Sacramento, California, Mary met Michael Findley, and they were married June 22, 1979. Mary and Mike welcomed their beloved son Benjamin Findley on January 20, 1983. Mary was passionate about caring for Mike and Ben, and over the years, they also sponsored several Air Force cadets, who became like extended family. While Mary was a dedicated nurse for more than 30 years, she had a variety of talents, including gourmet cooking, scrapbooking and interior design, for which she was recently pursuing her degree. Mary also enjoyed fly-fishing, reading, skiing and spending time with family and friends. Surviving besides her husband Mike and son Ben are her parents, Art and Pat Jacqmain; five sisters and four brothers: Susan (Tim) Daoust, Mike (Sally) Jacqmain, Trisha Grandell, Steve (Charlotte) Jacqmain, Jeanne (Nolan) Rosenbaum, Geoff (Kay) Jacqmain, Dan (Gail) Jacqmain, Cindy Palmer and Cheryl Jacqmain; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial tributes to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region at or by calling Marsha Wayman at 719-473-1741 x 133. This charity is special to the Findley family because of Mickey and Chauncey – the two dogs they adopted from the Humane Society. Chauncey, in particular, was a wonderful companion and protector through Mary’s illness. A private memorial service, celebrating Mary’s life, will be held in Colorado on January 22, 2011.
