Faber, Horst H., Frankenmuth, Michigan

Passed away peacefully on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 85 years. Horst was born on July 7, 1925, in Sensburg, East Prussia, Germany, to the late Robert and Marie (Jeglinski) Faber. He married Renata E. Grahle on October 21, 1947. She survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Horst was employed at Saginaw Metal Casting for 21 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. Horst loved camping and fishing. Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Inga and Carl Peterson of Luther, MI; four grandchildren, Martin and Gregory Peterson; Amy and Stephanie Faber; two great-granddaughters, Cassandra and Brianna; daughter-in-law, Sharon Faber; one sister and two brothers, Christel (Alex) Mikulak of Frankenmuth; Fritz (Judy) Faber of St. Charles; Hubert (Loreen) Faber of Traverse City; also several nieces and nephews. Horst was predeceased by his son, Klaus Faber in 2002. Funeral and committal services will take place on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Genesee St., in Frankenmuth. The Rev. Kyle Madson will officiate. Private burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cartwright Hospice Residence or Michigan Lutheran Seminary.
