Evans, Evelyn Mae, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. Age 83 years. Evelyn Mae Richmond was born August 17, 1927, in Pigeon, Michigan, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Deming) Richmond. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1946. She was a member of the First Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and with her church family. She married Melvin S. Evans on August 16, 1947; he predeceased her January 9, 2001. Surviving are six children and their spouses, James Evans, Comstock, MI; Linda and James Doyle, Saginaw; Karen Hayes, Wyoming, MI; Robert Evans, Myrtle Beach, SC; Charles and Debra Evans, Saginaw; Sharon and Mike Armato, Coral, MI; thirteen grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and another due on April 28; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother Roland (Maxine) Richmond, and by two sisters, Lola Jean and Gladys Marie. Her family extends special thanks to all the staff at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre for their loving kindness and tender care during Evelyn’s years there. Funeral service will take place on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Free Methodist Church, 2625 N. Center Road. Rev. Larry Osweiler will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
