Eddy, Roland George, Bay City, MI, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan


Roland G. Eddy (Junior) was born to the late Roland and Theresa (Block) Eddy on March 24, 1924 in Saginaw. Roland passed away on March 8, 2011 at the age of 86 years joining his beloved wife, Shirley Jean in heaven. Roland was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He served with the US Army during World War II. He worked at Saginaw Manufacturing GM in Saginaw for 31 years retiring in 1976. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He enjoyed family parties with his sisters and brothers and their families. Most of all he enjoyed being with his granddaughter and grandson and their spouses as well as his sweet great-granddaughters. They always brought a smile to his face. Surviving are his son, Terry (Victoria) Eddy, Essexville, Ml; granddaughter Shannon (Rob) Sharpe, of Chicago, III. Grandson Shane (Kelly) Eddy, Perry, Ml, 2 great-granddaughters, Ava Jean and Claire Jordan Eddy; 2 brothers, Harold and Donald (Beverly) Eddy all of Saginaw; brother in-law, Gary Bryan; three sisters, Nancy (Gary) Sebenick of Saginaw, Shirley Gay of Utah and Bev (Doug) Moore of Nashville, TN; also many wonderful and loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who were very good to him. Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by 2 brothers Edward and Ray Eddy and three sisters, Sally Bryan, Geraldine Eddy and Nellie (Manual) Slater. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 1501 N. Center Road, Saginaw. The Rev. Marlene Clarke will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and then at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
