Beloved wife, daughter and sister passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Age 42 years. The daughter of Anne (Hellmich) Bender and the late Donne Bender, Anne-Marie was born on May 14, 1968 in Saginaw, Michigan. Anne-Marie was united in marriage to Andrew Paul Durber on September 27, 1997. He survives her. Anne-Marie was employed by Certegy for 12 years. She was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Central Michigan University and belonged to Sorority Alpha Sigma Tau. Anne-Marie and Andy traveled to North, Central and South America, Europe and Africa. She loved swimming and boating at their lake home. Anne-Marie was an avid reader. Anne-Marie and Andy participated in many cancer walks. She loved gardening and socializing. Surviving besides her husband Andy Durber, her mother Ann K. Bender; three brothers and one sister, Donne Bender, Michael (Jackie) Bender, Patrick (Denise) Bender, Lisa (Steve) Tatroe, her grandmother, Pat Bender; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Bradley, Stephanie, Amy, Melissa, Tiffany, Nicholas, Taylor, Hailey, Jonathan and Ryan; many great nieces and nephews; her aunt, Gail Kohlschmidt, cousin, Michele Strasz, mother-in-law, Maureen Durber, brother-in-law, Matthew Durber, Mosborough-Sheffield, United Kingdom. Anne-Marie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martin Bender, Leo and Thomasine Hellmich, her uncles, Jack Collison and Donald Collison; her cousin, Casey Collison, father-in-law, George Durber. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Schuetze and his staff, Lori, Katie and Diane, and Great Lakes In-House Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they had shown to Anne-Marie. Honoring Anne-Marie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at noon Saturday, January 22, 2011 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
