Our loving father, Russell F. Dunn, age 82 of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 after a brief illness. Dad was a mechanic for close to 30 years at the Fulton Ford Dealership in Alma, Michigan. He then worked from his garage at home from 1976 until he retired in 2008. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to go to the Soaring Eagle where he had many friends, and in earlier years you could always find him in St. Louis and Midland on the softball fields playing Fast Pitch. He caught both Ron Horman and Jerry McClintic for many years. Dad loved to deer hunt. He loved to fish with many friends on Houghton Lake where the family camped on North Shore Campgrounds. Dad was a WWII vet having served on a Naval Destroyer, the USS Saratoga. Russ Dunn was born in Newark Township (Ithaca) on December 15, 1928, the son of Archie and Eva (Raske) Dunn. He married Joan V. Harper on November 22, 1950 in Breckenridge. He is survived by his children: 3 daughters: Sharon (Ken) Mizer of Hendersonville, NC, Judy (Harry) Lopez of Elwell MI, Marcy (Max T.) Capen of Breckenridge, MI and one son: Craig of Lyons IL., 10 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Joan, his parents , brother Carl Dunn and wife Joyce, sister Donna Whitman,s and one brother in law Ed Harper(Verneal) of Shipshewana, IN. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Breckenridge. Friends may greet the family from 10:00am until time of service.
