Doak, Edith M., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 94 years. The daughter of the late Floyd and Helen (Schiele) McIntyre, Edith was born August 16, 1916 in South Haven, Michigan. She was previously married to Lewis Colbath. After eight years, their marriage concluded and Edith married George D. Doak on February 15, 1941. He predeceased her January 10, 1993. Edith was a member of Ss. Casimir & George Catholic Church where she served on the funeral dinner committee. She was also a member the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are three sons and their spouses, William and Bobbie Colbath, Reno, Nevada; Donald Colbath, Saginaw; George and Dorothy Doak, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Donald Colbath Jr., David, Daniel, Douglas, Mark Colbath, Scott Sandberg, Jeffrey Doak and Ann Marie Reif; two brothers and their spouses, Floyd and Edna McIntyre, Saginaw; Arthur and Janet McIntyre, Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews. Edith was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Colbath, two grandsons, Dennis (Sandberg) Colbath and Dennis Colbath, and by one brother and three sisters, David McIntyre, Frieda Haas, Evelyn McClintock and Lucille Henne. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Reginaldo Salcedo will officiate with interment in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. George Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. George Catholic Church or the Catholic Heritage Museum.
