DeGuise, Joseph H., Saginaw, Michigan, Formerly of Merrill, Michigan

Passed away at his home, Friday, June 17, 2011. Age 80 years. The son of the late Paul and Etta (Hutt) DeGuise was born July 7, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan and grew up in Merrill. He married Virginia Thompson, August 6, 1953. She survives him. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a life member of the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302. He was employed by General Motors, Cadillac Div. in Grand Blanc, retiring with 37 ½ years of service. He was of the Catholic Faith. Surviving besides his wife, Virginia, are five children and their spouses, Paul and Julie DeGuise, Caro, MI; JoAnn English, Midland, MI; Susanne and Garth Brooks, Canada; Regina and Bryon Koehler, Los Alamos, NM; Mary DeGuise, Saginaw, MI; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph Paul DeGuise; Nichole English; Joelle and Paul Craddy; Aaron and Heather English; Carrie Keidel; Derrick Koehler; Brock Koehler; a great granddaughter, Angelica Neigh; three sisters, Alice Byron; Doris Huston; Bonnie and Kenneth Smythe; many nieces, nephews, one of whom is a special nephew, Gary Bryon. He was predeceased by a sister Pauline and a son-in-law, Stephen J. English. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. David Parsch will officiate with Military entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum under the auspices of the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post #7302. Friends may call at the Chapel in Merrill from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W.
