Dark, Edward L., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at The Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 83 years. Son of the late Walter and Florence (Schmiegel) Dark, Edward was born March 16, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. Edward married Lois M. Kaczmarek, his loving wife of 60 years, on November 3, 1951. She survives him. Edward was employed at Jameson Corporation as a designer-engineer for 22 years. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and Masonic Lodge #77. Surviving besides his wife Lois are two sons, Leo M. Dark, Saginaw; Mark and Donna Dark, Severn, Md.; four grandchildren, Melanie, Stephanie, Theresa and Christina; two brothers and one sister, Kenneth and Leota Dark, Burt; Richard Dark, Houghton Lake; Muriel and Jack Bartlett, Houghton Lake; several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Dark. A special thank you to the staff at The Cartwright Hospice Residence for the love and support they have given. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway, Saginaw. Rev. Kathleen Basner will officiate. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at Resurrection Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A Masonic Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
