Comfort, Georgia Ellen, Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved mother passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the age of 88 years.  Georgia Ellen was born August 8, 1923 in Cody, Nebraska to the late Charles M. and Bessie (Tooker) Terrill.  She met her husband, Harold, while serving in the U. S. Navy in Washington, D.C.  He was based in Norfolk.  Following their discharge from service, Georgia moved to Saginaw to marry Harold on April 12, 1946; he predeceased her October 27, 2003.  Georgia worked for several places in Saginaw and then retired from Second National Bank, Fashion Square Branch in 1988.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She was an excellent cook and baker and also enjoyed sewing and quilting.  Surviving are her daughter, Donna Comfort, Secord Lake, Michigan; two sisters, Nancy White, La Quinta, California, and Marian (Ivan) Ludeman, Casper, Wyoming;  her nephew, John Comfort, Saginaw; several other nieces and nephews; her grandcat, Alley Cat.  She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Terrill, and an infant sister, Louise Terrill.  Many thanks to the employees of The Manors (where she became affectionately known as “Georgia Peach”), to the staff of Hospice of Hope from the Lutheran Homes of Michigan and the visiting Physicians Staff for their excellent care given in the final months of her life.  Also, a special thanks to Diana and Duane Campau, Barbara Taylor and also to Doris Wehner who provided support to Georgia and Donna in the past few years.  Funeral service will take place on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road.  Rev.
