Collver, Melvin Edward (Meat Ball), Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Monday July 4, 2011 at Covenant Harrison. Age 76 years. Melvin was the son of the late Melvin Y. and Florence (Cutting) Collver and was born June 3, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Margaret Johnson in 1955. She preceded him in death in 1982. Melvin later married Patricia Robbins, May 31, 1997. She survives him. Melvin was employed by Baker Perkins, retiring with thirty-one years of service. He was a member of Swan Valley Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on lawn mowers and spending time with his dogs. Melvin loved eagles. Surviving besides his wife, Patricia, are three children, Christopher Collver and his wife, Jamie, Saginaw, MI; Kitty Saunders, Bridgeport, MI; Connie Rayner, Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Eric Tilden; Angela Corridore; Margaret Williamson; Phyllis Haucks; three great grandchildren, Halie, Nathan and Lauren; three sisters and two brothers, Lily Diechman; Welcome Collver; Theodore Collver; Anna Allen; Ione Brady; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Melvin C. Collver and a brother, Harry Collver and a sister, Norma Garno. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Jerry Schalau will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the wishes of the family.
