Bryan, Gloria R., Saginaw, Michigan

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at her home. Age 80 years. Daughter of the late Michael and Veronica (Matulewicz) Karbowski, Gloria was born October 13, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to James P. Bryan, her loving husband of 57 years, on May 16, 1953. He survives her. Gloria was a beautician and owner of Pellicore Beauty Shop. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, League of Catholic Women, Legion of Mary and American Legion Post #439 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, walking, the outdoors, meeting once a month with dear friends and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going shopping and going to casinos with her daughter. Surviving besides her husband James are one daughter and one son, Maureen Ann and Bradley Ward, Lake Orion; Patrick James Bryan, Prospect, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer Ward and Jamie Bryan; one sister, Angeline Koons, Port Orange, Florida; a sister-in-law, Veronica Karbowski, many nieces and nephews, dear friend Sr. Phyllis Mrozinski, O.P, Grand Rapids, many friends at 4:00 p.m. Saturday Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Gloria was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann, Geraldine and Harriet; and six brothers, Chester, Matthew, Casimir, Wallace, Joseph and Ray Karbowski. Honoring Gloria’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Friends may call at the church where the family will be present on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
