Brussow, Linda S., Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Conrad and Julia (Gorte) Simon, Linda was born July 28, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married William J. Brussow on August 15, 1939. He predeceased her May 20, 2003. Linda loved cross stitching, sports and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are one son and three daughters, William J. and Micheline Brussow, West Bloomfield; Nancy Winstanley, East Lansing; Sharon and David McMath, Saginaw Twp.; Carol and Nick Alfano, Saginaw Twp.; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Hayley, Liz (Mike), Nick (Jacqui), Jeff (Misa), Gina (Dan), Kelly (Ray), Shannon (Tom); 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Brussow and Dorothy Simon; several nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen, a son-in-law, Jerry Winstanley, five grandchildren, Amber, Steve, David, Scott and Debbie, and by six brothers and two sisters, Art, Hank, Fred, Howard, Elmar, Don, Helen and Mary. Mrs. Brussow’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Edgewood Assisted Living and Hospice Advantage for the excellent care they provided. Honoring Mrs. Brussow’s wishes cremation has taken place and private services were held with inurnment of cremains in Oakwood Mausoleum.
