Bock, Barbara J., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at age 81 years. The daughter of the late Ernest and Lucille (Szymanski) Rummler, Barbara was born July 9, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married Howard C. Bock on May 25, 1974. He predeceased her on November 2, 2009. Barbara was employed at General Motors Corp. for many years and retired in 1984. She was a past member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Barbara loved life and especially enjoyed traveling, painting, and was an avid reader. Surviving are two sons, one daughter, and their spouses, David and Susan Grunow, Flat Rock, Michigan; Carolyn and John Schneller, Norton Shores, Michigan; Thomas and Jennifer Grunow, Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, James (Michelle), Kristin (Joseph) Messler, Joseph, Samantha, Matthew, Christopher (Anne), Heather, Melissa, Michael (Miranda), Mary Beth, William, and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Kim) Rummler, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Pat Rummler, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Barbara, being the middle of seven children, was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Dorothy Gibson, Louise Rummler, Laura Greening, Ernest Rummler, and Paul Rummler. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Carlson will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Bock’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
