Birnbaum, Kay E., Saginaw, Michigan


Our Archangel mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to Heaven to be with the Lord and reunite with the love of her life, her gift from God, Al, on May 11, 2011. Age 75 years. The daughter of the late Gene and Harriett (Burgoyne) Archangeli, Kay was born January 11, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Albert D. Birnbaum on November 6, 1954. He predeceased her April 11, 2006. Kay and her husband Al were owners of Valley Asphalt and were actively and socially involved with their employees. Kay was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for 21 years and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church and active in both churches. She enjoyed flea markets, antiques and church bazaars. Surviving are her children, Debra K. Birnbaum, Blake (Jackie) Birnbaum, Brad (Mary) Birnbaum, Dedrea (Tim) Flattery; grandchildren, Nicole Birnbaum and her partner Mike, Gabrielle Birnbaum, Ainslee (Rhyan) Finlan, Anthony and Sabrina Flattery, Kala Flattery and her close friend Josh, Amber Watson and Brittney Conner; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Kay) Archangeli and Dale (Natalia) Archangeli; a brother –in-law Frank York; and several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by one sister Alice York and Debra’s lifelong partner Bob Uribe. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 4690 Tittabawassee Road, in Saginaw. Kay’s nephew, Rev. David Birnbaum, will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
