Bierman, Alvin C., Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at his home at the age of 89 years. He was born January 12, 1922 in Frankenmuth, Michigan. He married Martha Giltrop and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2011. He owned and operated Bierman Auto Parts for over 60 years. Alvin loved spending time with his family and going to his cabin. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and winemaking. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and three sons and their spouses, Dorothy Bryce, Bentley; Arlene (George) Gibson, Saginaw; Ronald (Johanna) Bierman, Birch Run; Donald (Ann) Bierman, Birch Run; Robert (Debbie) Bierman, Bridgeport; eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Wallace (Thelma) Bierman, Saginaw; a sister, Vera Engelhardt, Bridgeport; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, James C. Bryce; and a grandson, James M. Bryce; and a brother-in-law, George Engelhardt. Funeral service will take place on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Major Wayne Ruston will officiate with burial in Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. They may then call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to thank Hospice of hope for their compassionate care.
