Bever, Harry Sherman, Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at St. Mary’s of Michigan at the age of 91 years. Harry was born May 22, 1920, in Rushville, Indiana to the late Mildred (Oneal) and Harry L. Bever. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 7th Engineer BN 10th Regimental Combat Team 5th Infantry Division 10th Corps 3rd Army. He served in 8 different countries and received 5 battle stars. He married Jean Ann Cramer on April 9, 1949, she survives him. He retired from the Michigan Dept. of State after 33 years and 11 months of service. He is survived by his wife, Jean; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Dorothy Bever; granddaughter, Sherry Bever; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Cramer. He was predeceased by his brother William L. Bever. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Private burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. where a military walkthrough will take place at 6:00 p.m. under the auspices of VFW Post #1859. Friends may visit again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the DAV Chapter 4.
