Bembeneck, Edward Matthew, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Covenant – Harrison. Age 81 years. Edward was born January 31, 1930, in Hannah, Michigan, the son of the late Matthew J. and Mary (Brogger) Bembeneck. He served with the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post #22. He retired from Malleable Iron Foundry after many years of service. He loved all fishing, including ice-fishing. He loved to travel and explore back roads, and enjoyed going to Pinconning. He was an avid fan of cowboy movies. He was a wonderful grandfather. He married Josephine (Ortiz) Anthony on June 5, 1993; she survives him. He also leaves two step-children, Jo Anne and her husband David Harris Sr., Saginaw; Lawrence Anthony and his wife Cheri, Ellijay, GA; six grandchildren, Rina (Walter) Stroik, Jillian (Saul) Garza, Tessa Harris, David Harris Jr., Jessica Anthony and Leah Anthony; five great-grandchildren, Sage Jackson, Saul Jr., Estrella, Chase and Tru Garza; many nieces, nephews and their families, including a special niece, Nancy Brzezinski. He was predeceased by a grandson, Sonny Alaniz; three sisters and four brothers, Bernadette Johnson, Cecelia Rice, Irene McLain, Joseph, Richard, Arthur and Raymond Bembeneck. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, where his family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #22.
