Bauer Jr., Dale R., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly Saturday, December 31, 2011. Age 63 years. The son of the late Dale and Frances (Lovato) Bauer, Dale was born March 31, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dale married Pamela Gaertner, his loving wife of 44 years, on January 27, 1967. She survives him. He was employed at General Motors for 42 years until his retirement in 2008. Dale was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports, physical fitness and was a devoted Notre Dame fan. Most of all, Dale loved being with his family.  Surviving besides his wife Pamela are four sons, two daughters and their spouses, Matthew Bauer, Freeland; Stacie and Jeffrey Dinauer, Bay City; Ryan and Lisa Bauer, Freeland; Jamie and Melissa Bauer, Saginaw; Nathan Bauer and Jeanette Dankert, Saginaw; Gina and Rich Korbein, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Tyler, Grant, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Zackery, Emily, Sienna, Brandon, Claire and Noah; two sisters and one brother, Margaret Jurumbo, Mary Williams and Kelly Bauer; many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Randy and Roger Bauer.  Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Carlson will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
