Basner, Kathryn Ann, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. She was 92 years old. Kathryn A. Gudritz was born on September 16, 1918, to the late Alfred and Emily (Gillam) Gudritz. She was married to Reynold Basner on August 24, 1956, in Saginaw. He predeceased her on February 9, 2004. Kathryn graduated from Saginaw High School and attended Central Michigan University. She was employed as a substitute teacher and a supervisor at the Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She and Reynold loved spending the winter in Venice, Florida. She enjoyed playing bridge and was in several clubs for many years. Kathryn also enjoyed working in the yard and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons and a daughter: John (Holly) Furlo of Saginaw, Thomas C. Basner of Saginaw, Barbara A. (Carter) Pohlman of Milford; six grandchildren: Liisa (Goran) Bozinovic, Mark Furlo, Robert (Dana) Furlo, Maria Elliot, Kelly Pohlman, Katie Pohlman: 14 great grand children; and one brother, William A. Gudritz. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Following Kathryn’s wishes cremation will take place.
