Aguilar, Christina R., Carrollton, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her home. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late Joaquin and Arabelia (Garcia) Rivier, Christina was born July 24, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She married Arturo G. Aguilar, her loving husband of 59 years, on April 13, 1952. He survives her. Christina had owned and operated Guadalupana Bakery until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Christina was also a nurse assistant and enjoyed crafts, sewing, playing piano, dancing and most of all being “grandma.” Surviving besides her husband Arturo are her children, Janie (Henry) Hadley, Osvaldo (Juanita) Aguilar, Arturo (Marianne) Aguilar Jr., Rosalinda Smith, Yolanda (William) Miles, Jesus (Shelly) Aguilar, Cristina (Brian) Miles; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Joaquin (Sylvia) Rivier, Cecilio (Eva) Rivier, Ernestina Saenz and Rosemary Gonzales; many nieces and nephews. Christina was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Jesus Rivier and Marcelina Portillo. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 545 Mapleridge in Carrollton. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Aguilar’s wishes, cremation will follow. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where the family will be present on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
