Aguilar, Arturo, Carrollton, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at his home. Age 81 years. The son of the late Osvaldo and Elisa (Gonzales) Aguilar, Arturo was born on March 28, 1930 in Paleto Blanco, Texas. He married Christinia Rivier on April 13, 1952. She predeceased him on June 8, 2011. Arturo was an owner and baker for Guadalupana Bakery. He also worked for Saginaw Grey Iron for 12 years. Arturo served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He loved baseball, football and fishing. Surviving are four daughters and three sons, Janie (Henry) Hadley, Osvaldo (Juanita) Aguilar, Arturo (Marianne) Aguilar Jr.; Rosalinda Smith, Yolanda (William) Miles, Jesus (Shelly) Aguilar, Christina (Brian) Miles; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Arturo was preceded in death by a daughter, Lollie Avalos, a son, Luis Aguilar; a brother and two sisters. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Michigan National Guard will present Military Honors. Honoring Mr. Aguilar’s wishes cremation will follow. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
