Passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at the age of 88 years. Virginia E. Mason was born May 14, 1921, in St. Charles, MI to the late Harry and Lillian (Santagg) Mason. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in St. Charles. She was a secretary for U.A.W. Local 699 for over 15 years retiring from General Motors in 1984. She married Arnold Younk in 1972, he survives her. Besides her husband she is survived by her sons, Benjamin West of Saginaw and Harry (Patricia) West of Harrison; three step-children, Arnold (Gloria) Younk of Saginaw, David Younk of Saginaw and Kathleen VanBuskirk of Saginaw; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rena Black, June Mason, Patricia Younk, and Mary Kay (Ray) Yeakle; brothers-in-law, Walter Younk, Robert (Gale) Younk, and Clifford Younk; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend for the last 55 years Frances Moore of Saginaw. She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Mason; sister, Beatrice Kaminski; her first husband Benjamin West; brother-in-law, William Younk; step-sons, Ray Younk and Darrell Young. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of St. Charles at the corner of Marcy and Clinton. Pastor Robert Quillan will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Road on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
