Yanskvich, Stanley F., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father and brother passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare Harrison. Age 84 years. The son of the late Casimir and Mary (Maileske) Janskivich, Stanley was born August 15, 1925 in Carrollton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and had received two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Stan married Delphine Michalski on November 9, 1946. She predeceased him November 9, 1988. Stanley was employed at Eaton Corporation for 23 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Brothers of Kosciuszko Pulaski Club. Stanley enjoyed cooking, Detroit Tiger Baseball and an occasional trip to the casinos. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen Yanskvich, Saginaw; Cheryl and Chip James, Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Stella Rembisz, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, Bernard, Casimir, Mary, Helen, Frances and Rose Marie. Stanley’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Covenant HealthCare physicians and the 6th floor I.C.U. staff for the special care they provided. Honoring Mr. Yanskvich’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A committal service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate with military honors provided by American Legion Post #439.
