Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Franskvich) Skimbrauskas, Helen was born on April 9, 1924 in Kaunas, Lithuania. She attended Webber and Saginaw High Schools. Helen married Leo P. Wizner on September 29, 1951. He predeceased her on April 2, 2010. Helen worked many years at Lufkin Rule. She was a member of 600 Bowling Club. Helen belonged to several travel clubs, 500 card club and senior citizen groups. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling, bingo, gardening, playing cards and going to the ca$ino. Helen had been a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was a former member of St. George Catholic church and its choir. Helen will be missed by all who knew her, as a loving wife and mother as well as a wonderful friend. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Nancy Wizner, Fruita, Colorado; Sheila Wizner, Carrollton; David Wizner, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Wizner; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
